Digital Mixed Media (Digitally Painted Photomontage)

Standing on the Rock/Word is about abandonment worship, praise and spiritual battle. It’s based on Psalm 18:46 “The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior!” and Psalm 150 “Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!”

The depicted mountain is believed to be Mount Sinai (also known as Mount Horeb) and represents “The Rock.” There, Moshe received the two stone tablets of the testimony—the word, inscribed by the finger of God. The dress of the worshipper and the mountain are interwoven and symbolize the transformational power of becoming one with the word, thus standing on the Rock/Word.

The colors and the swirls represent the fire and movement of the Holy Spirit.

The tambourine is used to arm oneself for spiritual warfare. It’s an instrument to worship and praise God, to express joy and is played to celebrate as well as to declare victory over the enemy.
