Gratitude features a woman in front of the Wailing Wall (הַכֹּתֶל הַמַּעֲרָבִי ).She shows her gratitude for what Adonai had done for her by lifting her hands toward Him in thanksgiving. The image alludes to Hannah the wife of Elkanah. She had been speaking to Adonai from the depth of her distress and anger, believed Adonai had heard her prayer and got up early the next morning and worshipped before Him. Indeed, after returning to her house in Ramah, Adonai remembered her and she was blessed with a son named Sh’mu’el meaning “because I asked Adonai for him.” In due time, she remembers her promise to give Sh’muel to ADONAI for as long as he lives. She returns to the temple and prays in gratitude:

“My heart exults in ADONAI!
My dignity has been restored by ADONAI!
I can gloat over my enemies,
because of my joy at your saving me.
“No one is as holy as ADONAI,
because there is none to compare with you,
no rock like our God.
