Spoken Word Digital Mixed Media Painting (Illustrator, Acrylics and Textured Layers)
Spoken Word is a design that incorporates several concepts. To begin with, there is the everlasting word speaking all things into existence. I used the Hebrew Alefbet on an infinity spiral to create a sense of going out into the distance of the universe to create the heavens and the earth. Moreover, the color blue and the ripples stand for life-giving water and lastly, the running colors represent atonement through shedding of blood.
In Genesis 1:1, we read that “In the beginning G-d created the heavens and the earth.” He spoke and there it was. He used the Word to bring all things into existence. John 1:1-5 enlightens us further, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with G-d, and the Word was G-d. He was with G-d in the beginning. All things came to be through Him, and without Him nothing made had being.” This Word existed before all things, and it holds everything together.
Even in nature, there is no life without water. In John 4:13-14 it talks about how in the earthly realm “Everyone who drinks water will be thirsty again.” However there is a kind of water that this Word gives that “will become a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” Revelations tells us that this water of life is without price and it’s for anyone who is thirsty and desires it.
The third concept is about the shedding of blood for atonement. Leviticus 17:11 reads, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement because of the life.” Hebrew 7:27 states, “He (Yeshua) offered one sacrifice, once and for all, by offering up himself.”
